Can you get to big?

(Indiana )

My girlfriend of 6+ years will be getting a engagement ring very soon my question is " can I get it to big?" she has very little hands and I don't want her to get embarrassed by it and it also need to be prtical. Is it better to go into a better quality or a bigger size? I think there has to be a good mix of the 4 c's and size. We are 30 years old now and she works retail and don't want it to get in the way and she will be embarrassed by any ( look at that rock ) comment. Also I think a solitaire setting is what i am leaning toward any help here should be great.

Yes, it can be too big NEW

First and foremost, congratulation to your gf! I have a very small finger size 3.25 and just got a Tiffany 1.02 carat solitare ring and look okay to me. I prefer a bit bigger, a 1.5 or max 2.0 carat size stone will be just the right size for my finger. So, if your gf have small finger like mine, I think a 1.5 to up a 2.0 max carat weight solitare will be perfect proportion for her finger. Good luck.
