Reese Witherspoons Engagement Ring and Wedding
Reese Witherspoons engagement ring: Ryan Philipe proposed to actress Reese Witherspoon with a 4.5 carat Asscher cut engagement ring in a platinum art deco setting. The ring was designed by famed jeweler, Neil Lane. The proposal took place while the couple was vacationing at The Planter’s Inn in South Carolina. Ryan was 24at the time and Reese was 23.
The couple met two years prior at her 21st birthday party. The two spent a lot of time talking at the party and when Ryan left to go work on a film for the next month, the two continued to keep in touch. The pair went on their first date 5 weeks after first meeting. The couple went on to star in the movie “Cruel Intentions” together.
The couple tied the knot at the Wide Awake Plantation in Charleston, South Carolina in June of 1999. Three months later, their first daughter “Ava” was born. Four years later, their son Deacon was born.
With their striking good looks and domestic tendencies the pair was often thought of as Hollywood’s golden couple. However, a few years into their marriage, the rumor mills started reporting that there was trouble in paradise. The couple openly discussed going to marital counseling to work on their relationship but insisted that everything was fine between them.
After 7 years of marriage, the couple filed for divorce. Rumors surfaced that the separation was Reese’s doing and the she was fed up with Ryan flirting with other women and partying. Ryan publicly denies any such wrongdoing. Since the divorce, Reese has been romantically linked to Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan with actress Abbie Cornesh. In any event, the two have pledged to put aside their differences to help raise their kids.
