My great-grandmother's diamond

by Deborah Shrader
(North Carolina)

I recently had my ring stolen....it had been made from my great-grandmother's ring. I was given the larger 3/4 ct diamond and my parents made it into a basic 14K yellow gold ring-6 prong. I had gotten a loan on the ring a few years ago when I needed money, so the pawn shop had a record of it and they said it had 1 miner's cut. I am trying to figure out the value of the ring for insurance purposes because I never had an appraisal done. Can you possibly give me any idea? I know the diamond was at least 50 years old or more. Thanks for any help you can give me!
