Gemstone Engagement Ring for an Active Lifestyle

Hello, thanks for the informative site!I am still confused however about the sort of ring that I should choose.

I am a chef by trade and run a busy catering business and so have very busy hands that are always mixing food and in the sink.I am also nearly 6 ft tall and have big features (hands and feet) think nordic!

I seem to like vintage pieces(art deco)or one offs-nothing run of the mill, and seem to be drawn in by the Tanzanite or Aquamarine stone (maybe 4-5 carat centre) with diamonds around the side.I am just wondering how these stones will go with a busy lifestyle.Someone said tanzanite can chip easily.Or am I better with a thick band with pave-I was just worried about food getting stuck in it.I am probably also looking at spending anywhere between
